My name is Ric and I am an American who lived in Paris for four years as a kid. Ah, the early 1980s: the era of Mork and Mindy and Football II. And (for me) the era of Tintin, Astérix, Lucky Luke, Spirou, and... Adèle Blanc-Sec. I first met Adèle in 1982, when I was 13 years old. I still enjoy her dark adventures just as much today as I did then (see image at left). I am employed as a university professor. |
If Adèle Blanc-Sec is enjoyed mostly by French-speaking readers, why is this website in English? I have considered making a mirror site in French, but there are already several good ones. This website is in English to attract English-speaking readers, which it seems to do. I've always wished the Adèle series were more popular in the United States, especially since several of the books have been puiblished here, and others serialized (see The Stories for more info.).
